What do I wear for a yoga class? It's a common question for beginner yogis to wonder what to wear to yoga so they are comfortable. And believe me, it is the most frequently asked question I receive from my friends that are new to yoga.
I am sure you will get a little bit excited when you prepare to attend your first yoga class. The most important factor when choosing what to wear to yoga is that you feel comfortable. Yoga is a form of exercise that helps you relax. Therefore, it is important to wear clothing that is both comfortable and made from breathable fabric. What tops to wear to yoga
A good top to wear to yoga is one without being too loose or tight. You have to make sure that your clothing will not make you feel exposed or embarrassed when you do a certain yoga pose but at the same time, allow you to move freely. For example, if you choose clothes that are too loose to yoga, your tops will tend to slide when you are in an inversion or even downward-facing dog poses.
Tops Option 1: Tank Top
Most of the yoga poses involve lots of arm movement. If you don’t have any sleeves, you won’t have to worry about constantly pushing them out of your way and can focus instead on your yoga poses. In the meantime, you don’t have to worry about exposing too much of your body, especially some people are not comfortable to expose their stomach.
Tops Option 2: Yoga Bra
If the weather is too hot, or you attend a hot yoga session, you might choose for a yoga bra instead. Just make sure the support level of the bra is enough you're your movement.
What bottoms to wear to yoga
It is important to choose a pair of bottoms that let yourself into flexible poses comfortably and without restriction. The materials should not be thick, otherwise your skin cannot breathe.
Bottoms Option 1: Pants
Yoga pants are very common to wear to yoga class. They come in many different colors so you can pick whatever suits your personality. It is very nice to get some pants properly designed for yoga as it makes you feel comfortable and protective. You can also wear them for other fitness activities, like running or biking as well.
Bottoms Option 2: Shorts
If you do not want to get your entire legs covered or do not want to get a new pair of yoga pants at the beginner level, you might consider wearing ordinary, loose fitting shorts to yoga.
